College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (EME) is the best institution of NUST. It is a premier hub of Engineering education in Pakistan. The college was established in 1958 by Pakistan Army in order to provide the excellent Engineering education environment to the Army Officers. EME was the foundation stone from where NUST a new journey took place. The Army establishment decided to enhance this institution to a university level where civilian students can also take admission. Finally due to this reason idea of making NUST evovled and soon they decided to make the main campus of NUST in Islamabad that is H-12 sector now.
EME offers a variety of Bachelor's as well as undergraduate Engineering programs including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering and Computer Engineering. Electrical Engineering was the first Engineering program launched before Mechanical Engineering in 1958 and this institution is pioneer of Mechatronics Engineering. It is the first institution of Pakistan that launched Mechatronics Engineering in 1998.

Societies:-
There are many societies in EME which provides students with the oppurtunity of grooming themselves and shine with their talent. SPAL, SAS, IEEE CEME, ASME, NVC etc are some of the well known societies and each have its own purpose. These societies promote literature, art, sports in the campus and students participate in events and enjoy them. There are always at least 2,3 events organized on daily bases in different departments. Every year after the joining of new degree the presidents of the societies open the registrations for the new students as well as old to join the societies if they want to.
EME Olympiad
EME Olympiad is also one of the biggest event of NUST. Every year Olympiad is being held in EME for 4 days. There are many thrilling events which are organized including sports, social events, Technical and arts events. The event is organized by many teams of EME stduents and different societies. Students from all over the Pakistan can participate in the events of their choice and they enjoy the this event. This Olympiad is the pride of EME which makes it the unique institution in Pakistan.
National Engineering Robotics Contest (NERC) :-
NERC is the biggest Robotics event of Pakistan. This event is organized by the Mechatronics department. Students of Mechatronics participate in this event by making the teams and organized body of students to conduct this event is managed separately.
Students from all other universities of Pakistan are openly challenge to participate in this event and defeat NUSTians. The students of EME are constantly wining this event since last three years. The robots are of indigenous category which includes boll potting robots, rescue mission and fighting robots (Robowars).
Campus Life :-
The campus life of EME has its own charm and level of enjoyment. As compared to all other institutions of NUST, EME has best friendly and close environment. Students of all the departments are well familiar with each other as well their fellows of other departments. All the students visit other departments very often for the promotion of events. This makes best grooming environment in the campus life of EME.
There are three cafeteria's named fresh, Kiosk and United Cafe. These cafes provide students with best quality of food. The administration made a team of Army Corps which checks almost every week the quality and the conditions in which food is cooked to ensure that the it is eatable and safe for students.
Sports Complex :-
The sports complex was inaugurated by Rector NUST Lt. General (R) Muhammad Asghar. Students can play Basket Ball, Volley ball, Table Tennis and Badminton in sports complex. The army staff is employed which daily checks and take care of the facilities provided to students for a better environment and exposure of extra-curricular activities. Besides this the campus also has a huge ground where students can play cricket, hockey, foot ball and soccer.
Swimming Pool :-
The swimming pool at EME provides students with the opportunity of improving and learning the swimming skills. The water is changed regularly and filled with clean and fresh water during swimming season. Swimming competitions are also organized in which many students participate. The timings of pool suit both in-living and out-living students. You can also get membership of pool to avoid any extra or monthly charges.
Riding Club :-
The riding club was made to facilitate students in improving their horse riding skills. Students can get the membership for horse riding club and they enjoy their rides in their free time. They can also get training if they're beginners.
