Hostel Accommodation is the utmost requirement of those students who belong to the areas of great distance. After securing admission in NUST, such students should apply for hostels as soon as possible. Because for NUST, it has always been an issue to accommodate people. They follow the rule “First Come, First Serve”. Hostel availability at NUST is not according to the strength of students admitted every year. Therefore those who apply early, they succeed in getting a place inside NUST but rest of the students have to live outside in private hostels which increases their problems of living as well as cost issues. Thus students need to hurry in order to get place inside NUST hostels.

More than 70% of students in NUST are hostelite. Hostel is beneficial in many ways. You will come to know when you have been accommodated. Being in university, the most important issue faced is ‘Time Saving’. University has hectic schedule of 9-5 on daily basis. Thus, being in hostel is much time saving particularly if you belong to the areas of Rawalpindi, where traffic congestions are frequent especially at School and Office Hours. One has to travel for more than an hour to reach a place which is just at a 20 minutes’ drive from his/her home.

Moreover, hostel has an environment that is best to study. I am sharing my personal experience with you guys that hostel is the best place to study. One has a lot of options and mates to help and for guidance. He/she can learn many new concepts rather than just cramming and going through the routine notes. NUST Hostels are a place of peace and hardworking though, especially in days of OHT’s (ONE HOUR TEST) and ESE’s (End Semester Exams).

Besides academic benefits, living in hostel helps students in many other ways. One has plenty of chances to learn new things and be a part of extra-curricular activities. One can join multiple societies, can be a part of mega events within University as well as outside. He/she can also be a part of any sports team and many other activities.

Thus hostel proves to be beneficial in many ways. You get new fellows, you make new family with people belonging to different areas of Pakistan. You also learn to deal with different sort of people and how to manage your all necessities being away from your home. Hostel teaches you to manage your life in more proper and organized way than being in home.
